Jamie's First Birthday!

Jamie is now the big one year old. I can't believe how fast time flies. Jamie is busy cruising around the furniture, crawling flat out around the place and playing with her big sister. Won't be long before she's walking and chasing Holly everywhere. Holly was good at helping her sister open her birthday presents and testing them out for Jamie, just safety checking I'm sure! Thanks to all who spoilt Jamie terribly! It just so happened to be the day our Antenatal group has our playdate which I organised to be at Chipmunks (big indoor play area). The kids had a lovely time playing with their friends. After the girls came home and had a well deserved sleep, Holly and I iced Jamie's birthday cake. Nana came for tea and we all finished our tea off with a bit of cake. The girls loved eating the cake!!!! Jamie couldn't get it in her mouth fast enough. Happy Birthday Jamie! xxx

Feeding the baby lambs

Recently our antenatal group went to our friend Sarah's farm at Tokonui to feed the lambs. We went last year which Holly thought was pretty good so she was keen to go and feed the 'baby lambs' again this year. The kids all decided to get on their bikes and round up the sheep. I'm sure the sheep were thrilled! Here are a couple of photos Holly the sheep farmer. I'm very proud - she's just like her mother!
I thought I'd better attach a photo of Jamie. It's amazing to think she will be turning 1 yr old in a couple of weeks, boy has time flown.
Next blog will no doubt be photos of Jamie's first birthday! Bye for now.

Building our new house!

Hi,
Hooray the house building has finally begun. One of John's old workmates had the big job of taking down the double garage/sleepout that was in the way of the build. Once it was down the concrete slab was broken up and the foundations could begin to take shape. Boy I'll never look at foundations of houses the same. I didn't realise so much happened under the house! The foundation is now ready for the concrete slab to be poured and then John has the exciting job of putting up the steel frame. Hopefully we can tempt a few friends and workmates to help. Here's some photos of the build so far.

Queenstown holiday photos

Hi,
In August we went to Queenstown for a week to meet my sister Barb and her family. Mum came up with me and the girls, whilst John came up on Thursday night after work. It was great to meet my nephew Harry at long last! Holly and Jamie saw snow for the first time. Holly also liked feeding the ducks in the lake. It was a fantastic break, the kids all had a great time playing together. Here are some photos of our holiday.

Our first blog

Hi,
Welcome to the first of our little news updates! Hopefully you (family and friends) will actually read them and this way you can keep updated with things here in New Zealand. Jamie has just turned 10 months old and is busy crawling and pulling herself up on the furniture. Holly is busy as usual. John and I took her to the Hi 5 concert on Saturday which she loved! She is quite the mover and groover! Must get that from her mother, certainly not her father. hahaha! John is busy at work and I've just got a new job teaching one day a week at a small catholic school in Winton, about half an hour's drive from town. Holly will be going to Childcare and mum is going to look after Jamie for the day. I'm looking forward to it!
As for the house - we are waiting for the contractors to come and dig the drains, then put in the foundations. Once this is done, we will be looking like we are on the way to see our new home being finally built! YAY!

Here are some recent photos of the girls! Bye for now!
