Holly's 3rd Birthday!!!

Wow, time certainly flies! Holly is now 3 years old. She had a lovely day today, which started nice and early at 5.45am. We had a stupid idea to put her Thomas clock (a present we bought for her with Nana and Grandad Sheridan's birthday money - Thanks Nanny and Grandad!) in her bedroom for her to see when she woke up. We didn't expect her to wake up that early! Then she was too excited to go back to sleep - whoops! After opening the rest of her presents and waking up Jamie, John took her for a ride in the truck (which a rare and very exciting thing for Holly) to get some things for breakfast and fresh bread from the bakery. We had a yummy cooked breakfast then John took Holly to the Fire station open day where she saw lots of fire engines. She was brave enough to have a sit in one. (Sadly I had to stay at home with Jamie as she was sleeping.) Nana Adams came for lunch and birthday cake which John made into the shape of Lightning McQueen (Holly's favourite) and I iced. It looked good, even though it was missing a couple of wheels (but hey he lost some tyres in the movie too!) After Nana left and Jamie went back to bed, Holly and I went for a walk to the shops to get out the Madagascar 2 DVD (with free beach ball). We decided to go to the local coffee shop for a drink and play 'ladies'. So Holly had a special one on one time with mum and dad today. She had a lovely day and went to bed very tired. Happy birthday Holly! xxx

Building update - Feb 2009

Things have certainly moved along since the last building post. The steel frame has gone up with thanks to John's helpers Kerry Tuna and Kerry Stirling. The boys have worked hard to put up the frame and it looks great! The roof is on and the windows in! YAY! It's now looking like a house. We are getting very excited now. The brick layer should be here by the end of the week, then things will be looking very different. Well done boys and thanks to everyone who has helped so far.

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas was even better this year with the girls being older. Jamie is still a bit young to take it all in but Holly was on hand to help open her presents. The girls joint present this year was an art board, the girls have had hours of fun, painting and drawing. Sadly the whiteboard pens didn't last long as somehow they managed to get on the hallway wallpaper so now it's just the chalk left! My sister Karen, hubby Chris and girls Melissa and Becky came down for christmas day. The girls were fabulous with Holly and Jamie! Hopefully next year we'll be in the new house. Thank you to everyone who spoilt them rotten!

Jamie's First Birthday!

Jamie is now the big one year old. I can't believe how fast time flies. Jamie is busy cruising around the furniture, crawling flat out around the place and playing with her big sister. Won't be long before she's walking and chasing Holly everywhere. Holly was good at helping her sister open her birthday presents and testing them out for Jamie, just safety checking I'm sure! Thanks to all who spoilt Jamie terribly! It just so happened to be the day our Antenatal group has our playdate which I organised to be at Chipmunks (big indoor play area). The kids had a lovely time playing with their friends. After the girls came home and had a well deserved sleep, Holly and I iced Jamie's birthday cake. Nana came for tea and we all finished our tea off with a bit of cake. The girls loved eating the cake!!!! Jamie couldn't get it in her mouth fast enough. Happy Birthday Jamie! xxx

Feeding the baby lambs

Recently our antenatal group went to our friend Sarah's farm at Tokonui to feed the lambs. We went last year which Holly thought was pretty good so she was keen to go and feed the 'baby lambs' again this year. The kids all decided to get on their bikes and round up the sheep. I'm sure the sheep were thrilled! Here are a couple of photos Holly the sheep farmer. I'm very proud - she's just like her mother!
I thought I'd better attach a photo of Jamie. It's amazing to think she will be turning 1 yr old in a couple of weeks, boy has time flown.
Next blog will no doubt be photos of Jamie's first birthday! Bye for now.

Building our new house!

Hi,
Hooray the house building has finally begun. One of John's old workmates had the big job of taking down the double garage/sleepout that was in the way of the build. Once it was down the concrete slab was broken up and the foundations could begin to take shape. Boy I'll never look at foundations of houses the same. I didn't realise so much happened under the house! The foundation is now ready for the concrete slab to be poured and then John has the exciting job of putting up the steel frame. Hopefully we can tempt a few friends and workmates to help. Here's some photos of the build so far.
